Ecobank has launched a groundbreaking initiative with its inaugural Design & Build Expo, an event poised to redefine Nigeria’s construction and design industries.

Featuring 54 leading exhibitors, this five-day expo aims to create an immersive platform for professionals and businesses in the architecture, construction, and design sectors, while simultaneously positioning Nigeria as a key player in Africa’s growing real estate market.

The Expo, held at Ecobank’s Lagos headquarters, was officially introduced by Omoboye Odu, the bank’s Head of SME, Partnerships, and Collaboration.

At a recent media briefing, Odu highlighted Ecobank’s expansive commitment to serving diverse sectors of Nigeria’s economy, particularly those shaping the nation’s infrastructural landscape.

“We have done something for the creative, for children, fashion and for our customers in the construction industry, we decided to do this. A five-day event for everything in the construction value chain. We have 54 exhibitors in our space. We are giving them a platform to network, to partner to have that international visibility.

“We are a bank for all. We will bank every sector that we can in Nigeria. Ecobank is present in 34 African countries and counting, we are the bank with the largest presence across Africa. Now, everyone talks about Africa as the last emerging market.

“To ensure that our customers can compete globally, we have designed a platform, the Single Market Trading Hub, which has helped our customers to connect and do business. We are enabling businesses across borders,” Odu explained.

The event’s distinguished exhibitors, which include top brands such as SABA Steel, Coleman Wire & Cables, and Dulux Paints, are set to showcase cutting-edge technologies and sustainable building practices that are transforming the construction sector globally.

Through its collaboration with these key players, Ecobank aims to provide a platform that not only promotes innovation but also facilitates international partnerships to help Nigerian businesses compete on the global stage.

Ecobank’s strategy aligns with its larger mission to support economic development across Africa. With a footprint in 34 African countries, the bank’s comprehensive services, including the Single Market Trading Hub, empower local businesses to expand beyond borders, access international markets, and tap into new opportunities for growth.

Odu emphasized that Ecobank’s focus on construction is a direct response to the increasing demand for advanced, sustainable, and efficient solutions in the sector.

This year’s Design & Build Expo is not just an exhibition; it is a celebration of Nigeria’s potential as a hub for construction excellence and innovation.

Participants will have access to valuable networking opportunities, in-depth knowledge exchange sessions led by industry experts, and product displays showcasing the latest innovations in building materials, interior design, and engineering.

Furthermore, the expo will feature an exciting architectural design competition for students, designed to cultivate the next generation of talent in the field.

Ecobank’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation is evident in its support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the construction sector.

By offering these businesses exposure to both local and international markets, the bank is helping to strengthen the foundations of Nigeria’s real estate and construction industries.

In addition to the corporate partners involved, the event also provides a platform for emerging companies to showcase their offerings and gain access to financial solutions tailored to their growth needs.
