Schneider Electric, a leader in energy management and automation, has reinforced its commitment to rapid growth in the data centre industry in East and West Africa. According to the corporation, this is becoming increasingly important as a result of fast digitalisation and increased internet penetration.
According to the organisation, this effort was built on the company’s two-pronged strategy of increasing engagement with end-user data centres and empowering channel partners to optimise potential.
Rohan de Beer, End User Sales Director, Anglophone Africa, Schneider Electric, commented on the development: “The Africa’s data centres market is experiencing unprecedented growth, making it an ideal environment for resellers and distributors to expand their capabilities and foster stronger relationships with local end users. Our plan helps partners to upskill, allowing them to fully capitalise on the expanding need for data centres.
“Previously, Schneider Electric relied primarily on external channels for market development, which sometimes resulted in missed opportunities and increased competition.
The new dual strategy aims to narrow these gaps by allowing for more direct connection with end users in order to influence technology decisions and get a larger market share. Crucially, these contracts will continue to be delivered through Schneider Electric’s broad channel network.
“This strategy allows us to influence project lifecycles at an earlier stage while maintaining our channel-driven fulfilment model,” De Beer told me. “Our goal is not to boost direct business, but to grow our market presence and share while enabling partners.
“In addition to self-paced learning tools, we provide instructor-led training programs throughout the Anglophone cluster. The first half of the year witnessed successful training completions in East, West, and Southern Africa, with an emphasis on technological solutions for partners and distributors.
“Schneider Electric remains committed to its channel-driven approach, and we will continue to leverage our strong connections to drive commercial growth throughout East and West Africa.
We are thrilled to continue this adventure alongside our partners. Meanwhile, as part of this plan, Schneider Electric is launching programs to help partners gain the knowledge and skills required to deliver sophisticated data centre solutions.
