Olori Sekinat Elegushi and Mrs Nike Davies, the founder of Nike Art Gallery, will receive the BusyBee Excellence Awards for their outstanding contributions to the development of Nigeria’s event planning sector, according to the BusyBee Event Business Summit in Africa.
According to Bisi Sotunde, founder of BusyBee Events Lagos, the 8th BusyBee Event Business Summit, titled “The forward-thinking event professionals—innovation meets imagination,” will be held in Lagos from November 26 to 28, 2024.
She added that zonal champions and members of the Well-Watered Garden Tribe will also be honoured in addition to these prominent figures in the sector.
The events sector is experiencing an unprecedented crisis, according to Sotunde, as experts find it difficult to keep up with the quick changes in technology, changing customer preferences, and changing business models.
She emphasised the concerning data, pointing out that new polls reveal that a sizable majority of event coordinators do not include technology in their events. This deficiency has led to a general lack of official event management training as well as unfulfilled revenue expectations.
The summit’s scheduled speakers include Mosun Akinwamide, CEO of IPC Events; Funke Bucknor, CEO of Zapphaire Events; Bisola Borha, CEO of TrendyBee Events; and Bryan Mensah, CEO of White Chalk Global, situated in Accra, Ghana.
Additional individuals include Noble Igwe, Olasunkanmi Akande of Lavish by Michelle, Ogunyemi Augustine of Aksent Events, Segun Johnson, Dayo Okeseyin, and Lolade Salami, CEO of Authentic Cuisine.
