Governor Peter Mbah has congratulated Enugu State-born Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Onwe Adetshina, on her victory as the first runner-up in the Miss Universe 2024 Pageant in Mexico, stating that she exemplified the state’s perseverance and courage.
Mbah, who had previously received Miss Onwe Adetshina in October and anointed her as the state’s brand ambassador, thanked Nigerians and the rest of the globe for their support throughout her arduous journey to the contest.
“Congratulations to Miss Universe Nigeria and Enugu State Brand Ambassador, Chidimma Onwe Adetshina, our pride from Amurri, Nkanu West LGA, on becoming the first runner-up at the Miss Universe 2024 Pageant in Mexico!
“Chidimma’s extraordinary trip and outstanding performance have made us extremely proud, underlining the resilience, brilliance, and determination that define Ndi Enugu. “Against all obstacles, she has made Enugu and Nigeria shine brightly on the international scene, and we could not be more proud of her.

Recall that, despite being a South African resident, Chidimma withdrew from the Miss South Africa competition due to a lack of acceptance and the storm caused by her participation and went on to represent Nigeria at the recently concluded 2024 Miss Universe Pageant in Mexico, where she finished first runner-up to Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig, who won the crown on Sunday.
