The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has officially launched its recruitment portal for tax officer positions, with applications opening at 12:00 am on November 2, 2024.

In a statement released on X, FIRS announced it is looking to fill Officer I and Officer II positions across several Nigerian states.

The agency encourages diverse applicants, including women, minorities, and individuals with disabilities, to apply.

Positions are available in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Ekiti, Lagos, and Oyo, although applicants should note they may be assigned to work in any FIRS office across the country.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify:

– Age Limit: Applicants must be 27 or younger as of December 31, 2024.
– NYSC Status: Candidates must have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) by December 31, 2021.
– Educational Background: Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s Degree or HND with at least First Class or Second Class Upper Division in fields like Accounting, Actuarial Science, Computer Engineering, Economics, Law, Mathematics, or similar disciplines. A master’s degree or relevant professional certification (such as ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, COREN, or NSE) is a plus.

Application Process and Important Dates

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete further assessments, including aptitude tests, interviews, and medical evaluations.

FIRS advises applicants to beware of fraudulent recruitment activities and to apply exclusively through the official portal at www.firs.gov.ng/careers.

The application window will close on November 14, 2024. Applicants are reminded to submit only one application for their chosen location, as multiple submissions will result in disqualification.

FIRS reaffirms its dedication to equal opportunity, aiming to ensure a fair recruitment process for all qualified applicants, irrespective of gender, background, or ethnicity.
