Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has guaranteed Sen. Monday Okpebholo, the next governor of Edo State, of his support, stating that Lagos will provide him with the required ideas and her developmental pattern to ensure his success in office. After winning the Edo State gubernatorial election last Saturday, Sanwo-Olu made the statement on Saturday at Lagos House, Marina, during a “thank you visit” from Senator Okpebholo.
“We are thrilled and delighted that you chose Lagos as the beginning point to ask for blessings and to acknowledge the very small and modest support that we provided,” he remarked. We would like to congratulate you on behalf of the people and administration of Lagos State. As you have stated, Edo people as a whole share in your victory, and everyone ought to work together to advance Edo State.
“I want to reassure you that, in terms of the developmental pattern, Lagos would not be helping you alone. We will provide you with access to all of our agencies that we think could address Edo’s needs. We will create concepts that we have applied to advance Lagos and provide them to you. “Lagos will support you.”
We’ll be there for you. To help you get the most out of your time as a governor, we will provide you with everything you need. While exhorting Edo State residents to unite behind Okpebholo, Sanwo-Olu also appealed for their support in his efforts to improve Edo State.
He declared, “In order for you to establish EdoState, all of the fellow contenders should band together and collaborate with you. That, in my opinion, is the proper thing to say and do.For now, the election is over.
Therefore, it is your responsibility to make sure that every Edo resident who genuinely wants to help and serve shows up to provide that kind of support, as Edo residents won’t benefit from it unless you all do that. You possess the heart to change the situation. You possess the heart to make a difference in people’s lives. “We firmly believe and hope that you will exercise your heart to give your people a meaningful life.”
Speaking earlier, Okpebholo stated that he and his group had travelled to Lagos to pay Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu a “thank you visit” in recognition of his assistance during the previous governorship contest. Along with some prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dennis Idahosa, the deputy governor of Edo State, and Phillip Shuaibu, the governor-elect thanked Sanwo-Olu for his support during the Edo governorship campaign and asked the Lagos governor to continue backing him once he takes office.
“I am here not just to thank you, but also to benefit from your abundance of experience,” he remarked. Additionally, I want you to know that you shouldn’t be by yourself. We are APC and we are brothers.
“We will keep asking for your (Governor Sanwo-Olu) unwavering prayers and support. We believe that this will help the Edo people much. “I am calling on everyone who is outside to come out and support us with any ideas they may have so that we can use them to build Edo State.
There must be a winner, and I am offering my hands of fellowship to everyone who does.” “We’re going to make Edo a desirable state.” Edo is going to go through a fresh metamorphosis. On November 12th, we will assume Obaseki’s position, and I hope Obaseki has the best possible final days in government.
