Patience Umo Eno, the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, has died after a battle with illness. The sad news was confirmed by the State Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, in a statement released early Friday.
The commissioner revealed that the First Lady passed away peacefully in a hospital on Thursday, September 26, 2024, surrounded by her family.
In his statement, Ememobong conveyed the deep sorrow felt by the family and asked for the public’s prayers and support during this difficult time. He added that more details would be provided in due course.
The statement read: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness. She passed away peacefully at the hospital, on 26th September, 2024, in the presence of her family.”
