The most costly shoes in the world exemplify grandeur and exclusivity, with diamonds and gold and one-of-a-kind designs created by iconic fashion brands. In this article, we go into the world of luxury footwear to look at the top ten most costly shoes ever made, with each pair demonstrating the creativity and extravagance that constitute the pinnacle of design.

Here is a list:

The Moon Star Shoes by Antonio Vietri costs $19.9 million

The “Moon Star Shoes,” which debuted in 2019 at MIDE Fashion Week in Dubai, are the world’s most expensive shoes. They are made of pure gold and studded with 30 carats of diamonds, as well as a fragment of Argentina’s 1576 meteorite. These shoes, designed by Antonio Vietri, who created the first 24k gold shoes in 2017, are a tribute to Dubai’s Burj Khalifa.

Passion Diamond Shoes by Jada Dubai and Passion Jewellers – $17 million

The “Passion Diamond Shoes,” designed by Maria Majari of Jada Dubai and Hemant Karamchandani of Passion Jewellers, exemplify luxury footwear. They are expensive because they are made of genuine gold and feature approximately 240 diamonds, including two 15-carat D-flawless diamonds at the toe. These shoes were first unveiled at the Burj Al Arab, the world’s only seven-star hotel.

Debbie Wingham High Heels: $15.1 million

Debbie Wingham high heels, which were unveiled in 2017, are among the most costly shoes in the world. These heels, created by British designer Debbie Wingham and Florida artist Chris Campbell, were commissioned as a one-of-a-kind birthday gift for a Dubai family. They have a 3-carat pink and 1-carat blue diamond, four 3-carat diamonds, and 1,000 pointer diamonds set in platinum. The shoes have solid gold zippers and plaques, 18-carat gold thread stitching, 24-carat gold paint, rose gold accents, and a leather Iranian jasmine blossom centrepiece.

Shoes thrown at President George W. Bush cost $10 million

On December 14, 2008, Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi threw his shoes at President George W. Bush during a press conference in Baghdad, exclaiming, “This is a farewell kiss from the Iraqi people, you dog!” in protest of the US invasion of Iraq. Bush managed to avoid the shoes. Al-Zaidi became a hero in the Arab world, inspiring a statue in Tikrit and being recognised as one of the world’s most powerful Arabs. Despite spending six months in prison for assault, he professed no sorrow. The incident sparked online shoe-throwing games and increased sales for the Turkish shoe manufacturer, with 300,000 pairs bought in a single week.

Harry Winston Ruby Slippers costs $3 million

The Harry Winston Ruby Slippers, created in 1989 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of “The Wizard of Oz,” differ from Judy Garland’s original sequined pair. These slippers contain 1,350 carats of rubies and 50 carats of diamonds, with 4,600 rubies carefully inserted over two months.
