In the mistaken notion that their “anointing” would enable them to resist temptation, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has cautioned gospel preachers against engaging in sexual immorality.
He noted that no amount of anointing can resist sexual desire and that, in spite of his advanced age, he now runs faster than ever to elude any kind of temptation. Adeboye made this statement during one of his sermons at the recently finished RCCG Americas 1 Ministers & Workers Conference, which had the subject “The Glory Ahead” and included the North, Central, and Caribbean.
During the lecture posted on his YouTube page, Adeboye, a pastor for more than 45 years, mentioned that Samson, an Israeli judge, became sexually immoral even though he was anointed.
He said, “Someone asks why you’re still running at your age. I run quicker than I used to because you have to be more cautious the closer you go to the finish line. “Some of you might ask, ‘Daddy, are you still running? What are you saying?'” I move quickly.
“‘With all your sanctification?'” Does being anointed make you turn stone? Anointed was Samson. He slaughtered a thousand soldiers by himself. He was finished by a woman. I’m hoping the boys are taking note.”Is anybody interested in an 82-year-old man?” is a question you could pose.
“She wants to stop all the wonderful things God has done through you; she is not interested in you. “Everywhere you go, you see that woman grinning at you; she is not your spouse; leave. When a boy smiles at you and asks, “Where have you been all my life?,” you gals should react accordingly. It appears as though the sun has just emerged.
