Dr. Mrs. Aisha Achimugu OFR accepted the Champions Newspapers 2024 Photographer of the Year Award on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the upscale Eko Hotels and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos. The award was given to her amid much fanfare and celebration by Brigadier general Mohammed Buba Maria (rtd), the chairman of the National Dug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Dr. Achimugu won the highly competitive Heart of Gold category, according to Dr. Mrs. Nwadiuto Iheakanwa, Group Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief, Champion Newspapers Limited. This is due to her extraordinary philanthropy through the SAM Empowerment Foundation, a non-governmental organisation that focuses on empowering women, youths, and children throughout Nigeria.

She is a shrewd entrepreneur and businessman. a technological and professional consortium made up of roughly eight operational businesses operating in several industries and sectors, including oil and gas, engineering, maritime, ICT learning and development, and other cutting-edge fields.
