Abode Assets certified 280 real estate professionals from her Academy of Proptech Firm during its 2024 graduation event this weekend. The occasion, held at Oluwalogbon House in Ikeja’s Alausa neighbourhood, saw the academy’s inaugural class receive certificates after a three-week intense training programme.
Sophia James, the Academy’s Community Manager, stated that facilitators from various industries, including Tope Mark-Odigie, Abel Adejoh, Faren Maren, David Asogba, Taiwo Anjorin, and the co-founders of Abode, were brought together with the primary goal of achieving financial stability through sustained sales of real estate products.
James also confirmed that over 700 people registered to participate in the free training, with approximately 400 attending classes; however, after various evaluations were conducted, only 280 participants were deemed worthy of certification. One of the successful participants, Jumoke Akinwunmi, stated: “I learned a lot. The training was particularly meaningful to me because this is my field. The acronym EBA, which stands for emotional bank account, struck a chord with me, and I’ve since learned how to apply it to improve business outcomes.
Another graduate, Isaac Akinyemi, said, “I’m excited. I am concerned that the next Academy session may not be free, so I am delighted about this possibility. We had lecturers with a wealth of expertise, and I am pleased to be among those graduating today.”
During the ceremony, the property technology firm, which began operations only two years ago, reiterated its objective to assist one million Africans in owning, profiting from, and earning from real estate with simplicity. According to Abode’s COO, Damilare Oshokoya, the sector required people with strong professional ethics and integrity to pave the path for others to follow, which was the foundation of the Academy.
In his own words, “We had a genuine desire to coach realtors across Nigeria to succeed. We invited a few lecturers to train them on various elements of real estate, such as comprehending the Nigerian real estate scene, how to be a successful realtor, sales and marketing strategy, and other related topics. “The sessions were tactical and entertaining, and there were evaluations to ensure that it was more than simply certification; we wanted the participants to be professional following the training.
There are many integrity issues in the market right now, with people lying to consumers about properties and so on, but we wanted to train the appropriate people to do the right thing. That is our contribution to the sector, and the response has been fantastic.
” At the graduation ceremony, Oshokoya also oversaw the launch of a product called Flex 3.0. He stated, “Flex is our simplified property ownership scheme that allows people to invest in real estate for as little as N12,500 per month.” We recently introduced this in seven locations: Epe, Ikorodu, Mowe, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Ibadan, and Abeokuta. We simply want to democratise property ownership throughout Nigeria.
The graduates and guests at the event were delighted by a panel session in which senior real estate salespeople shared their experiences over the years to inspire other attendees to succeed. Abode also gave out refrigerators, air fryers, and tabletop gas cookers to top-performing realtors.

Two additional realtors received shopping vouchers as a result of their efforts during a promotion, while another received dinner for two at the Marriott Hotel in Lagos. Mr Wisdom Ezekiel, co-founder of Pertinence Group; Mr Ebunoluwa Olufemi; Mr Jeffrey Itepu, CEO Abode and Chancellor of the Academy, who attended via Zoom; and a slew of other real estate experts and investors were also in attendance.
