The Dangote refinery has announced a further reduction in the diesel price, lowering it from the previously reported N1000/litre to N940/litre for customers purchasing 5 million litres and above from the refinery.
This update was disclosed in a statement from the company, signed by its Head of Communications, Mr. Anthony Chiejina. He stated that the new price aligns with the company’s objective to alleviate the impact of the prevailing economic challenges on citizens.
The company specified that customers buying one million litres of diesel and above would pay N970/litre, while the price for aviation fuel was set at N980 per litre.
The statement reads, “Dangote Petroleum Refinery has again announced a further reduction in the prices of diesel and aviation fuel to N940 and N980 per litre respectively.” “The price change to N940 applies to customers buying five million litres and above from the refinery, while the price of N970 is for customers purchasing one million litres and above.”
Regarding this development, the head of communications at Dangote refinery emphasized that the company already has a strategic partnership with MRS Oil, allowing public members to purchase diesel at N1,050 per litre and aviation fuel at N980/litre nationwide.
He mentioned that such partnerships would be extended to other petroleum marketers nationwide.
Since commencing distribution, the Dangote refinery has aimed to significantly reduce the diesel price, which previously stood at around N1500 per litre. Aliko Dangote, the company’s chairman, had earlier expressed the company’s intention to lower diesel prices as a measure to combat inflation.
Before this latest reduction, the company had announced a price cut in diesel prices to marketers, setting it at N1000 per litre just a few days ago.
