The Rivers State Police Command recently apprehended two suspects involved in a string of crimes, including bank robbery, motorcycle theft, and robbing unsuspecting individuals of their belongings. Identified as Ikenna Obiko, aged 30, and Isichukwu Eneji, aged 24, the duo was caught in the Olu Obasanjo area of Port Harcourt while riding a motorcycle.
During interrogation, both suspects admitted to their involvement in various criminal activities. They confessed to targeting parked cars to steal money and valuables using specialized keys, as well as stealing motorcycles by hot-wiring them. Additionally, they confessed to robbing bank customers after they withdrew money from banks and ATMs.
The suspects were also implicated in a robbery case involving an Indomie Noodles vehicle, from which they stole one hundred thousand Naira. Police investigations revealed that the suspects had stolen three motorcycles within the year, two of which were taken from Choba Road and Eliozu respectively, while one is currently held at the Borokiri Police Station.

Ikenna and Isichukwu, both natives of Oguta in Imo State, relocated to Port Harcourt last year amid the crisis involving the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Imo State and other parts of the South East. Ikenna attributed his involvement in crime to a deceased community leader, while Isichukwu claimed to have been influenced by his late uncle.
Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, ordered the immediate prosecution of the suspects and urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in the ongoing effort to combat crime in Rivers State.
