The Chartered Institute of Directors of Nigeria (CIoD) Nigeria has praised the life of its former President, Emmanuel Ijewere, for his significant contribution to the country as well as his commitment to professionalism and ethical business practices.
Members of the governing council paid tribute to him during a special session convened at the institute’s secretariat in Lagos.
Tijjani Borodo, President and Chairman of the Governing Council, stated that Ijewere, the institute’s sixth president, increased the institute’s corporate visibility, elevating it to the status of Nigeria’s foremost membership organisation.
He stated that it was under his supervision that the institute’s headquarters were relocated to Ikoyi, Lagos, where it remains today. Borodo described Ijewere’s enthusiasm and unselfish service to the CIoD Nigeria as unequaled.

He said that his dedication to the institute’s ideals served as an inspiration to its members. Borodo noted that the institute would continue to value his unselfish devotion and dedication to the organization’s goal.
Emmanuel Ijewere (Junior), a spokesperson and son in the family, praised the CIoD for remembering his late father and his significant contribution to the institute’s success.
