Sanwo-Olu, articulated his dedication to fostering a supportive environment for businesses in the year 2024, with the overarching goal of contributing to the overall prosperity of the state. This declaration came during his address at the Sol Beach Oniru, one of the key venues hosting the 72-hour #Greater Lagos Fiesta, a grand celebration and countdown event leading up to the new year.

Expressing his satisfaction, Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that the festivities were unfolding concurrently in six different locations across the state, including Sol Beach Oniru, Agege, Epe, Ikorodu, Badagry, and Ajegunle. This widespread celebration aimed not only to bring joy to the diverse communities within Lagos but also to underscore the unity and vibrancy that characterize the spirit of the city.

The governor emphasized the annual nature of the event, portraying it as a cherished tradition designed to celebrate the multifaceted aspects of Lagos, encompassing music, entertainment, and the resilient spirit of its people. In his view, it served as a platform for acknowledging and supporting the local residents, promoting the rich cultural heritage, fostering tourism, and facilitating the development of the youth.

Accompanied by his deputy, Dr. Kadri Hamzat, and other members of the state executive council, Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted that the countdown to a new year is a global tradition observed in every city worldwide. However, Lagos stood out by marking this significant moment simultaneously in multiple locations, creating a sense of unity and collective anticipation among its residents.

As part of the festivities, comedians and music artists took the stage to entertain the enthusiastic audience, creating an atmosphere of joy and celebration. The culmination of the event was marked by a synchronized countdown to the arrival of the year 2024, with Governor Sanwo-Olu and the attendees at the Sol Beach Oniru joining in a chorus. The transition to the new year was further accentuated by a spectacular display of fireworks that illuminated the night sky, capturing the excitement and optimism for the times ahead.

Noteworthy among the performers were over 25 renowned artists and comedians, including the likes of Innocent Idibia, popularly known as TuBaba; David Adeleke, alias Davido; and Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, also known as Kiss Daniel. Their contributions added a significant flair to the entertainment lineup, enhancing the overall experience for the gathered audience.
