Dr. Doyin Odebowale, who was intimately associated with the late Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has recently shed light on what he perceives as a betrayal by certain appointees who allegedly worked against the interests of the deceased governor. This revelation came to the fore over the weekend, as Odebowale, who had served as the former Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties and Strategies to the late governor, unveiled a narrative of internal discord within his circle.

In a video that has since gone viral, Odebowale expounded on the claim that individuals whom he had placed trust in strategically exploited his ill-health to advance their personal agendas. A particularly pointed accusation was leveled at a female aide of the late governor, who, according to Odebowale, not only schemed to ascend to the position of deputy governor but also allegedly played a role in exacerbating the governor’s health issues.

The crux of Odebowale’s narrative revolves around the alleged exploitation of his health by those close to him. He asserted that the female aide in question, purportedly feigning loyalty to Akeredolu, was simultaneously gathering information about his health while establishing connections with another individual, Lucky Aiyedatiwa. This, he claims, was a prelude to her ambition of becoming deputy governor should Akeredolu’s health deteriorate further. Such actions purportedly fueled mistrust between Akeredolu and Aiyedatiwa, leading to a confrontation between the First Lady and the said female appointee.

Odebowale did not mince words in his assessment of Akeredolu’s leadership, depicting him as a weak figure who failed to manage issues on the home front adequately. He alleged that Akeredolu mismanaged his own health and allowed disloyalty within his inner circle to fester. The former aide criticized the late governor for not intervening when his wife made public outbursts, suggesting that Akeredolu could have taken steps to address the situation.

As the narrative unfolded, Odebowale touched upon the alleged financial improprieties within the administration. He claimed that Akeredolu’s aides were not only disloyal but also involved in financial mismanagement. According to Odebowale, certain individuals within the government were allegedly involved in questionable practices, including the manipulation of chieftaincy titles and accusations of forgery.

In a call for transparency, Odebowale challenged those making allegations of forgery to produce concrete evidence. He emphasized that if his son and wife were found guilty of embezzlement, they should be held accountable and face legal consequences. Moreover, he pointed fingers at members of the cabinet, suggesting that their rise to prominence was facilitated by Mrs. Akeredolu and her son.

The former Senior Special Assistant promised to reveal more details after the burial of Akeredolu. The unfolding narrative, as presented by Odebowale, paints a complex picture of political intrigue, personal ambition, and alleged mismanagement within the inner circle of the late Ondo State governor.
