Christmas bonus, the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools of Nigeria (ASUSS) in Ogun State recently conveyed their heartfelt appreciation to Governor Dapo Abiodun for his commendable decision to provide a Christmas bonus to civil and public servants in the state. This gesture of goodwill was lauded in separate letters of gratitude signed by the state’s TUC Chairman, Akeem Lasisi, and the ASUSS Chairman, Felix Oluwaseun Agbesanwa, along with the Secretary, Bankole Oluwaseyi.

In his letter, Akeem Lasisi, on behalf of the TUC, portrayed Governor Abiodun as a true leader with the best interests of the state’s workforce at heart. The unexpected yet welcome Christmas bonus, combined with the December salary, was seen by Lasisi as a crucial means of alleviating the prevailing economic challenges faced by workers and their families in the state. Despite the surprise, Lasisi acknowledged the governor’s well-known humane nature, stating that the Christmas bonus was a testament to Abiodun’s gracious capacity and marked the current administration as one with innovative approaches.

“We believe in His Excellency’s character, capacity, and above all, compassion to make Ogun workers active, motivated, comfortable, and happy to do more for our dear state in the area of productivity,” expressed Lasisi. He went on to assure the governor that this unexpected benevolence would serve as motivation for colleagues to contribute even more significantly to the development and progress of Ogun State.

Furthermore, the TUC Chairman expressed gratitude for Governor Abiodun’s consistent efforts in maintaining remarkable industrial relations stability within the state. The letter concluded with assurances of unwavering loyalty and support for the Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration.

Similarly, the leadership of ASUSS, represented by Chairman Felix Oluwaseun Agbesanwa and Secretary Bankole Oluwaseyi, extended their appreciation to Governor Abiodun for the thoughtful gesture. They specifically noted that the payment of both the December salary and Christmas bonus had further endeared the present administration to the state workers, particularly teachers. Describing the governor’s actions as unprecedented in the state’s history, ASUSS emphasized the positive impact on the morale of the workforce.

In their expression of gratitude, ASUSS also recognized Governor Abiodun’s commitment to doing more to address other pending issues such as leave allowances and global deductions when the economic conditions of the state improve. This forward-looking statement from ASUSS underlines the confidence placed in the governor’s dedication to the welfare of the state’s employees and showcases an optimistic outlook for future developments under his leadership.

Conclusion: Christmas bonus

The appreciation expressed by both TUC and ASUSS serves as a testament to the positive impact of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s initiatives on the workforce in Ogun State. The recognition of his leadership qualities and compassionate approach not only highlights the significance of the Christmas bonus but also sets a tone of confidence and cooperation between the state government and its dedicated employees.
