Mrs. Tega Amanda Obukwuko, formerly known as Mrs. Tega Amanda James, finds herself entangled in a public dispute as she vehemently refutes a claim asserting that she is still married to her ex-husband, Mr. Lucky James. The narrative unfolds against the backdrop of a marriage contracted under the Urhobo Native Law and Custom, which she declares has been legally dissolved. The complexity of their relationship takes center stage as legal representatives and personal accusations interweave, creating a web of conflicting accounts.

In a statement released by her counsel, Chief Malcom Omirhobo, titled “Tega Amanda is not heartbroken, she has since moved on,” Mrs. Obukwuko’s lawyer addresses the public and seeks to clarify what he deems as “disparaging, malicious, and odious” reports. The lawyer asserts that Mr. James had faced legal consequences, having been remanded at the Nigerian Correctional Centre in Kirikiri Apapa, Lagos, and prosecuted at the Ikeja Magistrate Court for assault, stealing, and obtaining by false pretense, Tega Amanda Obukwuko.

Chief Omirhobo sheds light on the circumstances leading to the withdrawal of a previous legal case, citing the plea from Mr. James and his family to avoid incarceration. The decision to withdraw was also influenced by the recent loss of Mr. James’ mother. However, the lawyer emphasizes that Mr. James, despite the leniency shown, continued to engage in fraudulent activities, prompting Mrs. Obukwuko to permanently sever ties with him in the current year, Tega Amanda Obukwuko.

In adherence to Urhobo customs and traditions, Mrs. Obukwuko took the step of returning Mr. James’ dowry. Chief Omirhobo contends that this move signifies a definitive end to their marital ties, asserting, “In this circumstance, let this serve as public notice that our client is no longer Mr. Lucky James’ wife and has since moved on with her life.” The statement goes further, revealing that Mrs. Obukwuko has found love elsewhere and is poised to enter a new chapter by tying the knot soon, Tega Amanda Obukwuko.

However, the legal discourse takes a more aggressive turn as Chief Omirhobo warns Mr. James against spreading falsehoods. He explicitly states that if Mr. James persists, charges of forgery and conversion will be pressed against him. The lawyer accuses Mr. James of forging Mrs. Obukwuko’s signature and that of her daughter at the Corporate Affairs Commission, effectively removing them as directors and shareholders of her company. This escalation underscores the severity of the rift between the estranged couple, Tega Amanda Obukwuko.

Mr. James, when contacted, vehemently denies the allegations, asserting that there is no legal marriage between them. He contends that Mrs. Obukwuko orchestrated the charges against him and emphasizes that the court dismissed the case. He paints a picture of financial exploitation, claiming that while in America, he had been sending money to Mrs. Obukwuko for a property investment she introduced him to. According to him, upon realizing the nature of their relationship, Tega Amanda Obukwuko.

He accuses Mrs. Obukwuko of forging a marriage certificate and changing their daughter’s birth certificate without his consent. To address these allegations, he claims to have petitioned the Police in Zone 2. The narrative presented by Mr. James introduces a counter-narrative, portraying Mrs. Obukwuko as the instigator of fraudulent activities.
