Oriki Global and Synergy are set to embark on an exciting venture ( entrepreneur), thanks to a substantial $85,000 grant generously provided by the United States African Development Foundation (USADF) and the Lagos State government. This financial support, channeled through the Lagos State Entrepreneurship Trust Fund (LSETF) and complemented by the technical expertise of Diamond Development Initiatives (DDI), is poised to lay the foundation for a pioneering spa and wellness entrepreneurship hub in Lagos, Nigeria.

The primary objective of this grant is not merely financial; it is a strategic investment in the economic empowerment and skill development of wellness entrepreneurs within the state. The announcement of this transformative initiative was made through a statement from Lucky Ihanza, the Head of Corporate Communications at DDI, underscoring the collaborative effort between the involved entities.

Travis Adkins, the President and Chief Executive Officer of USADF, expressed pride in supporting Oriki Global’s mission, highlighting the organization’s commitment to fostering economic development and entrepreneurship in African communities. His sentiments were captured eloquently as he stated, “The most positive thing to do is to hope for the success of the initiative; the most powerful thing to do is to pray for the success of this initiative; but the most practical thing to do is to invest in this initiative. On this note, I sign the document.”

The Acting Executive Secretary of LSETF, Omolara Adewumi, underscored the Lagos State Government’s unwavering dedication to job creation. She emphasized that this collaborative effort with Oriki and USADF represents a significant stride toward the actualization of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s ‘THEME PLUS’ agenda. Adewumi stated, “LSETF is committed to fostering opportunities for Lagosians to turn their entrepreneurial aspirations into reality.”

Adding a crucial layer to this initiative, Adamu Garba, the Executive Director of DDI, highlighted the pivotal role of local support. He expressed optimism about the positive impact that this collaboration could bring to the wellness sector. Garba stated, “DDI is honored to provide technical assistance in partnership with USADF to facilitate the success of Oriki’s spa & wellness entrepreneurship hub.”

In essence, the grant signifies not only a financial boost but a commitment from various stakeholders to uplift and empower local entrepreneurs, aligning with broader visions of economic growth and job creation. As the pieces of this collaboration come together, there is a palpable sense of optimism surrounding the potential positive outcomes for the wellness sector in Lagos.
