The family of Bello Habeeb, 15, is frantically asking help to collect N1.162 million to save their son from bone cancer. Habeeb was diagnosed with osteosarcoma of the right upper limb, a type of bone cancer, last year, and requires immediate treatment. According to studies, osteosarcoma is a type of bone cancer that starts in the cells that make bones.
It is most common in the long bones that make up the arms and legs, although it can affect any bone. It primarily affects children and young adults. The symptoms include localised bone pain and swelling, which can be treated with surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation.
When his family noticed his right limb was becoming unusually large, they took him to numerous places, including Igbobi, unaware of the health concern, until they were referred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH. Habeeb’s father, Mr. Rauf Bello, stated that after seeking assistance from every possible source, he learned about the Gifting Volunteer Network (GVN), a non-profit organisation that assists persons with serious health difficulties in raising finances.
Cancer
Habeeb is now managed at NSIA-LUTH in Lagos. Habeeb was treated with six cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy, according to medical data released by the institution. He is planned for six weeks of external beam radiation treatment at a cost of N1,162,350. To preserve Bello Habeeb, all donations can be directed to Adesina Habeeb Bello
