Olaolu Akeredolu-Ale, often known as Olaolu Slawn, designed the English FA Cup trophy that will be shown at the 2024 final between Manchester City and Manchester United at Wembley on Saturday.

1. Olaolu Slawn, a British-Nigerian artist and designer, was born on October 24, 2000, in Lagos, Nigeria.
2. The majority of his works feature spray paint, large-scale pop art canvases, graffiti, caricatures, and murals.
3. The 23-year-old became the youngest individual to design the Britannia statuette for the annual BRIT Awards in 2023.
4. In his late teens, Slawn worked at Wafflesncream, Nigeria’s first skate shop. There, he met his buddies Leo and Onyedi, and the trio collaborated on artwork, skating, and filming.
5. Slawn and his friends finally formed an apparel group called Motherlan, and their brand gained prominence in Nigeria and was recognised by Virgil Abloh.
6. In 2018, Slawn relocated to London and enrolled at Middlesex University to study graphic design in 2019.
7. At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, he started painting and handing out his artwork at parties. He also built a social media presence for his artwork.
8. In September 2021, he made his inaugural show at the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane.
9. Skepta unveiled his first painting in 2022, as part of a Sotheby’s auction hosted by Slawn for charitable purposes.
